1 Substrate preperation
- Completely remove old render/plaster.
- Rake out friable and salt-laden joints to a depth of ca. 20 mm.
- Prime highly absorbent masonry work with AQUAFIN-Primer.
- Level off joints and voids with THERMOPAL-GP11.
2 Producing the horizontal damp proof barrier
As required
1. Install a retrospective horizontal barrier with AQUAFIN-i380 or AQUAFIN-F.
2. Close off drilled holes with ASOCRET-M30.
3 Thermally insulating plaster/render
- To improve the bond, apply a half-coverage splatterdash coat of THERMOPAL-SP to the load-bearing substrate.
- Plaster the wall with THERMOPAL-WSP-120.
- Once dry, prime the plaster/render surface with AQUAFIN-Primer.
- Subsequently overcoat the surface with the fine mortar THERMOPAL-FS33 in two layers.
