Restoration plasters as a salt store and to regulate the climate In comparison to conventional plasters such as lime or cement plasters, the THERMOPAL restoration plasters have the benefit of not getting damaged by harmful salts in the substrate and not pressed by the wall. They store the salts in their pore structure and efflorescence is prevented. Water vapour can continue to escape unhindered over the entire plaster structure without causing damage. Masonry work drying is therefore supported.

Restore faster with TopTec technology Our restoration plasters with the special TopTec technology promise rapid working progress thanks to controlled and reactive bonding behaviour. Benefits include a fast application in the event of unfavourable ambient conditions such as low temperatures and high humidity. Rapid setting is even guaranteed in the event of changing substrate conditions with different absorption behaviour. The TopTec technology enables restoration measures to be reduced significantly and to be completed on one day thanks to predetermined system components.
Restoration plaster may not be subjected to hydrostatic pressure (pressure water and backwater). They are used in interior areas or in exterior areas if necessary but then only above ground level. If the masonry work is damp due to missing waterproofing measures, it first requires suitable waterproofing measures. Interior waterproofing with a system Interior waterproofing is used if exterior waterproofing is inaccessible, e.g. due to extensions, cannot be performed due to building instability or is not economically viable. Our interior systems provide the optimum solution for waterproofing building components in direct ground safely and permanently.

Moisture, mould growth, inadequate thermal insulation are typical challenges when renovating interiors in existing buildings or listed/historical buildings. Conventional systems quickly reach their limits. Either the insulation value is insufficient, or there is no adequate waterproofing against rising or laterally penetrating moisture. The combination of cementitious interior waterproofing made of ASOCRET-M30 and the thermal insulation plaster THERMOPAL-WSP-120 offers a reliable and vapour-permeable solution for precisely this problem.
THERMOPAL-WSP-120: Insulating plaster with climate regulation The mineral thermal insulation and restoration plaster THERMOPAL-WSP-120 are applied directly to the interior waterproofing. It not only offers a noticeable improvement in surface temperature and thus living comfort, but also has a climate-regulating effect: excess moisture from the room air is absorbed and released again, thereby consistently reducing the risk of mould formation. If a salt-storing intermediate layer is required due to high salt concentrations in the masonry work, our WTA renovation quicksetting plaster offers the necessary pore space to safely store salts.

For retrospective horizontal barriers Injection cream AQUAFIN-i380 AQUAFIN-i380 is a silane-based injection cream for the creation of retrospective horizontal barriers, which is applied without any pressure and has a hydrophobic action against rising damp in masonry work. The material has been tested and certified in accordance with WTA data sheet 4-10 at a penetrating moisture level of 95%.
T HE BUILDING COMPONENT STATUS ANALYSIS
Every waterproofing project requires a preliminary investigation and a plan based on that investigation. The following points regarding the condition of the building structure must be surveyed and documented: • Survey, salt analysis: What damage is there? • Effects, special features: e.g. capillary rising damp, saturation from rear, condensation, accident damage, settlement, etc.
The fine active ingredient only reacts with the substrate – not with water – and spreads quickly in the masonry work. As a result, the pores are totally saturated, the capillary walls become water-repellent, water transport is stopped and the substrate dries out.
2. SUBSTRATE PREPARATION Damaged wall surfaces must be completely stripped of plaster. For partial restorations (e.g. in the plinth area transition), remove and clean the plaster up to 80 cm above the damage limit. • Chase out masonry joints to approx. 20 mm • Create load-bearing substrate

The use of suitable waterproofing systems is particularly crucial for the interior renovation of damp and salt loaded wall surfaces – such as for the retrospective waterproofing of building components in contact with the ground. In accordance with the WTA leaflet 4-6 “Retrospective waterproofing of building components in contact with the ground”, this also includes a high-performance sealing mortar for the preparation and implementation of sealing measures. With the watertight multi-mortar ASOCRET-M30 you are on the safe side for
every application: Whether as a barrier plaster, reprofiling mortar, bonding slurry, sealing fillet mortar or for creating suitable substrates for retrospective renovation plaster systems – ASOCRET-M30 meets all requirements and is ideally suited for waterproofing building components in contact with the ground. Reactive drying for rapid construction progress even under challenging weather conditions. ASOCRET-M30 is a genuine all-rounder for daily use on the building site.
